Praise and Prayer 8/19

Father thank you for the blessings of a restful Sabbath yesterday. The joy of Your presence in worship, the peace of fellowship, and the clarity of Your message were a balm to the soul. Thank you for the opportunity to speak Your grace to those who needed to hear it over the day. And Father, thank you for permission to just rest. Today is going to be a challenge Father, and I am so grateful for the chance to just recharge.

Today is going to be a challenge however Father, and I ask that You remind each one of us that is facing difficulties today that You have a plan, even though we may not understand it. Send us Your peace, Your strength and Your courage. Comfort us in our confusion and in our pain. Pour out the love of Your Holy Spirit and let us all be filled with Your peace that comes not from the things that are seen but from the indwelling of Your Spirit in us.

Father, if we have failed You today, if we have missed the mark, fallen short and fallen into sin, please shine Your light on our transgression, not to shame us, but to give us the conviction to repent so that we can be forgiven and not fall into the same sins again. We know that Your conviction brings freedom from the chains of repetitive sins in our lives that cause us harm and keep us from a deeper relationship with You.

Thank you Father for the assurance and the grace that comes from the life, death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.
